A piece of American workwear re-imagined as contemporary art.
This original Carhartt jacket has undergone careful deconstruction and reconstruction, incorporating hand stitching, screen printed elements, and salvaged textile materials. A central textile fragment originates from a burlap coffee sack collected while visiting a coffee plantation in El Salvador, embedding the garment with both material and geographic history.
Areas of wear, repair, and reinforcement are intentionally preserved and integrated as part of the composition, emphasizing the garment’s previous life and physical memory.
Each intervention is permanent. No two pieces can ever be replicated.
This jacket exists as both functional clothing and a one-of-one art object.
